We  love  wichita.

We believe it's important to make a real impact in our community.

Here are a few of our "Community Impact Partners" that we trust and regularly support. If you have any questions about these or would like to start volunteering, select the ministry you're interested in and we'll be in touch with details.

Community Kids

We often volunteer at Enders Elementary School here in Wichita and assist with several after school Bible clubs. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available!

Downtown Breakfasts

Every Sunday morning, those who are homeless or struggling financially are able to enjoy a free breakfast in downtown Wichita. Several groups partner together to make this happen, and several times throughout the year we ask First MBers to help provide casseroles and serve at the event.

Family Promise

Family Promise helps local families journey out of poverty by hosting and caring for them.

Hope is Alive

Over the past six years Hope is Alive Ministries has supported and advocated for hundreds of families who have found themselves in this troubling and painful place. They work with families to define an action plan that bests suits their specific situation and be there to walk beside them as their loved one begins his or her road to recovery.

Lighthouse Community Church

We have a long history of working with our sister church located in the Oaklawn neighborhood of Wichita. They do a fantastic job ministering to lower-income families in their community, and there are many opportunities for us to partner with them.

Second Blessings Thrift Store

Second Blessings is a thrift store in East Wichita at Central and Grove. Along with providing affordable clothing and household items for families in need, the store also provides a small food pantry. You can drop off grocery donations at the church, or sign up to volunteer to work at the store.

Women's Prison Ministry

Being a pen pal or mentor to an inmate can have such an impact.

Youth Horizons

This local organization pairs adults with at-risk youth in our community seeking to break the cycle of fatherlessness and poverty through mentoring.
