Baptism at Ridgepoint
Throughout the New Testament in the Bible, we see story after story of new followers of Jesus getting baptized. Jesus called His followers to take this step, and He was even baptized Himself by John the Baptist.
So, what is baptism and why is it important?
Here's the big picture: Baptism is an outward sign of an inward commitment to follow Jesus. Baptism itself doesn't save you. The water and the process are not magical. When you get baptized, you're publicly telling others that you are committed to following Jesus. It's a mile marker in your faith journey to remind yourself and to tell others that you are all in; your old self is gone, and your new life with Jesus has begun!
