We aim to make a real impact in our community.

We take following Jesus seriously, and one of the ways we do that is by choosing to invest our resources to impact others. During the holiday season, it is our tradition to find those who are in need and give generously to help.

Here are our three main projects this year. 

OPERATION  CHRISTMAS  CHILD

Collection Week: November 16-23
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God's love to children in need around the world. The main way we do this is by providing a shoebox full of Christmas gifts for kids who may not otherwise receive one. Beyond these gifts, these children also hear the good news of Jesus and are taken through the "Greatest Journey" discipleship course. Along with donating a shoebox of gifts, we could also use help processing and packing the boxes since Ridgepoint is a regional collection center.

GIVING  TREE

Starting Sunday, November 8, we will have a special Christmas tree set up in our Commons with ornaments ready for you to take home. Each ornament has an item for you to purchase to help us support one of our community impact partners.

Here are the organizations we're supporting this year:
  • Cessna Elementary Bible Club
       (return by December 13)
  • Family Promise 
       (return by December 13)
  • Children Advocacy Program 
       (return by December 13)
  • King's Kid Poultry Project, Uganda  
       (donate by QR code - $15/chicken)

THE  BIG  OFFERING

Every year around Thanksgiving, we give away 100% of a weekly offering outside of our budget to make an impact on our city and around the world. This year's Big Offering will be on Sunday, November 22.

This year's Recipients:

  • EmberHope. This is a nonprofit that supports kids in foster care. Their calling comes from 1 Peter 4:10: "God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another."  Your gift will help EmberHope provide healthcare for foster kids in South Central Kansas.

  • Burrton, Kansas Church Plant. Koerner Heights, our Mennonite Brethren sister church in Newton, is planting a new church in Burrton, Kansas. Your gift will help cover the start-up costs of bringing a new church family to life in this community.

  • Missions. This year, we get to help launch six new missionaries sent from Ridgepoint, SouthLife, and our Mennonite Brethren Southern District. Starting Life on the missions field takes more than a calling. Your gift will help with:
    • Language training
    • Setting up a household
    • Transportation for those serving in remote areas
    • Travel to their new home country
Your gift will also help fund Chocolatada, a Christmas celebration for kids in Peru. Our Ridgepoint Women's team will be there to serve in December.
