You were never meant to grow alone.

At Ridgepoint, we believe following Jesus was never meant to happen alone. Grow Groups are small groups designed to help people grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, and live out their faith together.

In a large church, it’s easy to attend without ever truly being known. Grow Groups create space for deeper conversations, genuine community, prayer, encouragement, and practical support through every season of life.

Because growth rarely happens by accident.

What are Grow Groups?

Grow Groups are semester-based small groups that meet weekly throughout the fall and spring. Each group is built around a simple rhythm we call Up, In, and Out:

  • UP: Growing in your relationship with God through Scripture, prayer, and spiritual growth.
  • IN: Building authentic relationships and sharing life together in community.
  • OUT: Living out your faith by serving others and making a difference beyond the group.

We believe healthy spiritual lives need all three.

Grow Groups aren’t just about studying information. They’re spaces where people can ask honest questions, pray for one another, encourage each other, and become more like Jesus together.

Open enrollment will begin August 9.

Grow Group FAQs

What is a Grow Group?
Grow Groups are semester-based small groups designed to help people grow in their relationship with God, build authentic community, and live out their faith through service and mission using our UP-IN-OUT approach.
What is the UP-IN-OUT approach?
The UP-IN-OUT approach is the foundation of every Grow Group.
  • UP focuses on growing in your daily relationship with God through Scripture, prayer, and spiritual practices.
  • IN focuses on building authentic relationships, encouragement, accountability, and community with others.
  • OUT focuses on putting faith into action by serving other snad living missionally both inside and outside the church.
Together, these three rhythms help create balanced and healthy discipleship.
What does "semester-based" mean?
Grow Groups follow a semester rhythm rather than meeting year-round without breaks. Groups typically meet weekly during the fall (Labor Day to Thanksgiving) and spring semesters (mid-January to the end of April), with breaks during the summer and around the holidays. This rhythm creates healthy seasons of connection, growth, rest, and new opportunities for people to join or transition into different groups each semester. Groups may stay together for years if members still choose to remain part of the group each semester, but they are also welcome to step away, take a break, or join a new group after each semester.
What kinds of studies or topics do groups go through?
Most Grow Groups use sermon-based discussion guides that connect directly to Ridgepoint's weekly messages, helping groups go deeper into Scripture together. New groups begin with a short Starter Series focused on building relationships and introducing the UP-IN-OUT vision. Some groups may also use approved studies through RightNow Media or other pre-approved curriculum options.
Can I invite a friend to join my group?
Absolutely! We encourage people to invite friends, neighbors, coworkers, and others who may be looking for community and spiritual growth. Because Grow Groups are semester-based and become closed after the first week, we encourage invited friends to officially sign up during the enrollment period so they can fully experience the group from the beginning.
How do I choose a group?
We encourage you to choose a group that fits your stage of life, schedule, interests, and location. Each Grow Group has a unique description to help you find the best fit, including meeting day, time, childcare options, demographics, and even shared interests or OUT-mission focuses. Our goal is not to just help you join a group, but help you build a community where you can grow and belong.
When and where do groups meet?
Most Grow Groups meet weekly during the fall and spring semesters for 1.5-2 hours. Groups meet in a variety of locations, including homes, coffee shops, restaurants, and occasionally at Ridgepoint Church. Meeting days and times vary depending on the group, making it easier to find one that fits your schedule.
What about childcare?
Ridgepoint provides childcare for Grow Groups on Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in coordination with our Kids Ministry. Groups meeting at other times are responsible for arranging their own childcare. Childcare availability will be clearly listed in each group's description during sign-ups.
What is an OUT-project?
An OUT-project is a shared mission or service opportunity your Grow Group commits to together. It's a way for groups to live out their faith beyond the meeting by serving others, supporting a ministry, or making a difference in the community. Every Grow Group is encouraged to have an outward-focused mission that helps move faith into action.
How many people are usually in a group?
Most Grow Groups are designed to have around 10-14 people. This size helps create meaningful discussion, authentic relationships, and healthy group dynamics where everyone can be known and involved.
What happens if a group fills up?
If a group reaches capacity, we'll help you find another group that may be a great fit. Our goal is to create healthy environments where people can genuinely connect, so groups do have size limits to help maintain a strong community and discussion.
What is a Starter Group?
A Starter Group is a short-term group experience designed to help people get connected, learn the vision of Grow Groups, and prepare to join a full Grow Group in a future semester. Starter Groups create an easy on-ramp for people who are new to groups or joining outside of an enrollment season.
Are there any online-only groups?
At this time, Grow Groups are primarily designed to meet in-person because we believe spiritual growth and authentic community happen best through face-to-face relationships. While there may occasionally be unique exceptions, our focus is on creating meaningful in-person connection and discipleship experiences.
